The Indore Zoo, also known as Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya, is a big zoo located in the center of the city in the Navlakha area by the Khan River. It was set up in 1974 on just 17 acres of land but has since expanded to cover 51 acres. The zoo is home to many animals, like elephants, tigers, monkeys, birds, and more. One of the great things about the zoo is how well they take care of the animals and how friendly the staff is, making visits enjoyable for everyone.

Animals at the Indore Zoo
At the zoo, visitors can observe animals such as Indian elephants, Hippopotamus, Blackbuck, Nilgai, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Chinkara, Asiatic Lion, Indian Leopard, Indian Wolf, Jackal, Indian Fox, and Striped Hyena. Various bird species like Peacock, White Peacock, Sarus Crane, Lady Amherst's pheasant, Egyptian Vulture, Lovebird, Emu, Ostrich, Barn Owl, Turkey, Duck, Guinea Fowl, Rosy Pelican, Parakeet, Painted Stork, Black swan, and Mute Swan also reside in the zoo.
Additionally, Mugger and Gharial crocodiles, native to the Indian Subcontinent, are also housed in the Indore Zoo.
