Varkala Cliff is an 80-foot-high red laterite cliff. It is a geological wonder that is declared a national monument. On the northern cliff, there are numerous restaurants, cafes, shops, and pubs. It is crowded, but a great spot to enjoy sunset views.
The southern part of the Varkala Cliff is generally calm and less crowded. You can find numerous exotic resorts here with private beach access. Surfing, kayaking, and paragliding are the activities you can enjoy here. There is a 2000-year-old Janard Swami temple here.
