About Shigmo Festival
The Shigmo festival is divided into two parts: DhaktoShigmo and VhadloShigmo. The rural population, farmers, and the labor class celebrate the DhaktoShigmo, whereas the VhadloShigmo is more important and is celebrated by everyone.
The ripening of the winter crop is also included as a reason for the Shigmo festival.
Shigmo is a famous festival in the Indian state of Goa that people love to celebrate. On the fifth day, called "Rang Panchmi," everyone uses a special red powder called "Gulal" to celebrate. During Shigmo, you can see different types of dances like the lively "Ghode-Morni" or horse dance, the energetic "Fugdi Dance," and the exciting "Rommatamel."
