Festivals at Nimishambha Temple Mysore

The main festival at Nimishambha Temple is 'Nimishambha Jayanthi' celebrated by Somvamsha Arya Kshtriyas on Vaishakashuddha Dasami. Arya Vsyas also celebrate 'Vasavamba Jayanthi.' Special rituals and poojas happen on full moon days at the temple. Free meals are provided to all devotees on every Full Moon. 

Nimishambha Jayanthi Mahotsava:

    • Held annually on Vaishaka Shudha Dashami.
    • Features various homas and rituals, including Ganapathi Homa, Nimishambha Homa, Mruthyunjaya Homa, and Lakshminaryana Homa.
    • Abhisheka Pooja with 108 kalasa is performed for the main deities.
    • Evening procession (Utsava) of Shree Nimishambha Devi, Moukthikeswara, and Narayanaswamy.

    • Involves chanting the moolamantra of Goddess Durga 1008 times.
    • Japa is done by chanting the moolamantra 108 times.
