Chennai has now open a new spot to visit! Inaugurated on October 7, 2024, by Chief Minister M K Stalin the horticulture department has set up The Kalaignar Centenary Park opposite the Semmozhi Poonga on Cathedral Road. This new park displays Sangarm-era flowers and other plants spread over six acres. At the Kalaignar Centenary Park, you can enjoy a Zipline, an Air-conditioned glasshouse, a musical fountain, a horticulture museum, and an aviary. The park has various activities for kids under 12 years old.

Parking at Kalaignar Centenary Park
There has been a big issue regarding the parking space at the park. The Kalaignar Centenary does not have a dedicated parking space for visitors due to which there is high traffic jams causing problems to commuters.
The have shared the parking with Semmozhi Park which has space for 100 cars and 50 bikes only. So it is recommended to travel by public transport. Go early to avoid traffic congestion.
