Ormanjhi zoo, officially known as Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park, is located in Ranchi. Established in 1994, this zoo sprawls across an area of 104 hectares. It was named after Birsa Munda, the legendary tribal freedom fighter of Chotanagpur.
Ormanjhi zoo also rehabilitates and takes care of orphaned, injured, stray, and sick animals. It houses a diverse collection of about 1450 wild animals, including mammals, reptiles, and birds. A cafeteria is available here for refreshments. There is an aquarium near the zoo.
