About the Place
Valluvar Kottam has been actually built to honor the legendary Thiruvalluvar which is a replica of the famous chariot in Thiruvarur. The Monument is in the shape of a temple chariot with a height of 106 feet.
At its core you can also visit the life-sized statue of Thiruvarur and remember his philosophical contributions through the Thirukkural.
Another interesting feature of the place is the Kural Manimandapam which is a hall that has all the 1330 couplets of the Thirukkural been carved onto granite columns with illustrations and commentary by M. Karunanidhi.
