Located 10 km from Diu Airport, the INS Khukri Vessel museum is a must-visit spot in Diu. The ship is the proud symbol, which was once a missile corvette of the Indian Navy. It was handed over to the Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (DNHDD) Administration on January 26, 2022.
The INS Khukri Vessel Museum inspires respect among the tourists for the Indian Navy. Visitors are allowed to visit the ship-museum for a maximum of 30 minutes. You can find the real structures, guns, radars, the engine room, and the control area here.

History behind the INS Khukri Vessel Museum
The name INS Khukri is associated with a great sacrifice. During the 1971 India-Pakistan War, the first INS Khukri could not survive Pakistan’s submarine attack. The ship sank at 40 nautical miles from the coast of Diu. The commanding officer, Mahendranath Mulla, along with 18 officers and 176 sailors, sacrificed their lives at that time.
