Located 10.5 km from Diu Airport, Diu Fort is a prime example of Portuguese architecture. You will find a canal on either side of the fort entrance. It was used for transportation and served as a moat in earlier times. The entire fort is made of yellow stone.
There are cannons available at the top of Diu Fort, which were kept for security purposes. You can also find cannon balls and iron shells that were used here during the Portuguese period. There was a jail near the fort called Panikotha. Electric cart facilities are available for the elderly and people with difficulty walking.
