The Nagaur Fair is India's second-biggest fair, held yearly from January to February. It's also called the Cattle Fair of Nagaur because it's where owners come to trade animals. About 70,000 bullocks, camels, and horses are traded here yearly. The animals and their owners dress up in colorful outfits. Along with cattle, sheep, horses, and spices are also sold. You can find the largest red chili market in India here, as well as wooden items, iron crafts, and camel leather accessories.
In the Thar Desert, Nagaur's land isn't good for farming. Villagers there earn a living by breeding and selling camels to nearby places like Haryana and Punjab.
The fair also features sports like tug-of-war, camel races, and bullock races. Plus, there are jugglers, puppeteers, and storytellers to entertain visitors.
