Visakhapatnam is set to welcome a new icon on its tourism map! The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has completed construction of the country’s longest cantilever glass bridge, which will officially open to the public on September 25, 2025.

Things to Know about Vizag Glass Bridge
- The 55-metre-long glass bridge, built at a cost of ₹7 crore, is now the longest in India after Kerala’s 38-metre Vagamon Glass Bridge.
- The bridge is made with imported German glass panels consisting of three layers of 40 mm tempered laminated glass and supported by 40 tons of fabricated steel.
- It can handle a load capacity of 500 kg per sq. metre and safely hold over 100 visitors at a time.
- For smooth crowd management, visitors will be allowed in a batch of 40 people.

Tourism Boost for Visakhapatnam
VMRDA Chairman MV Pranav Gopal shared that this glass bridge is part of a series of initiatives by the coalition government under Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to promote tourism in the region.
He also announced the Trishul Project at Kailasagiri, where a 55-foot Trishul structure will be installed. Built with Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) for durability and resistance to coastal weather, the project carries an estimated cost of ₹5.5 crore.
